Training

We provide agency and individual training on the identification and intervention of human trafficking and symptoms
of trauma associated with gender-based
 violence.

In our agency training, we take a specific look at the ways in which trafficking will appear in the agency. We tailor the training to meet the needs
of the industry that the training is being provided in. The training provides the overarching understanding of the history of trafficking in Canada,
specific legislative challenges that create the conditions for trafficking, explaining sex work vs sex trafficking, labor trafficking, community vulnerabilities,
signs to look for, interventions, self awareness before interventions and collective care considerations while supporting  those who have been
or are being trafficked.

We will also talk about policy barriers and community building opportunities.

In our individual training, we address the stages of trafficking data analysis ways that individuals are made vulnerable to trafficking,
how to identify and safe community-based intervention. This training is 2 hours in length.

We are committed to giving back to the community and making our information accessible.
For every individual who attends a training $25.00 of your registration fee goes to fund one
youth to attend an empowerment workshop

School Boards / Those Working With Youth:

Human trafficking is a complex issue that requires a multi-sector approach. With new legislation in Ontario which is also expected to roll out into other provinces in Canada it can seem overwhelming for leaders to take on this huge task of creating anti-trafficking responses and procedures. All School boards in Ontario must have an anti-trafficking strategy developed by January 30 2022. The strategies must include:

    • Prevention of human trafficking and sexual exploitation
    • Identification of those at risk of trafficking or currently being trafficked/ lured
    • Intervention when we identify an at risk or trafficked youth
    • Re-engagement after a youth has experienced trafficking

Theses strategies must be comprehensive and include multiple partners and people with lived experience in human trafficking.
